The benefits of using an ePortfolio is you can track your research, accomplishments, growth, and concerns online for public review and comments. You can publish your work and receive feedback, you can post blogs for viewers to comment on, and you can continuously improve or update the work and keep getting the positive or negative feedback you need for improvements. It is also valuable on the teaching side. You can allow your students to begin their ePortfolios at a young age so they can see growth in their works over the years from middle school throughout high school. I make my students create an eportfolio at the end of their 7th grade year to use through 8th grade. I have had several students come back and tell me they were happy that we started doing this assignment because they can see how much they have improved in essay writing, projects, and posting appropriate information on the internet.
